Provide firm-wide financial leadership, advising partners and the CAO while overseeing all accounting operations, billing, trust accounting, and day-to-day financial activity. Lead financial reporting, controls, staff supervision, and coordination with external CPAs to ensure accuracy, compliance, and informed decision-making.

Provide financial leadership for the firm, reporting directly to the Chief Administrative Officer and advising the partner group on financial matters

Participate in partner meetings to present financial results, trends, and recommendations

Oversee day-to-day financial operations, including general ledger accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, billing, payroll support, and trust accounting

Prepare monthly financial statements and management reports

Review the general ledger for accuracy and prepare reconciliations

Monitor accounts receivable, unbilled balances, and prepaid client balances; advise partners and attorneys on status and follow-up

Oversee client billing processes, including edits, appeals, and resolution of rejected bill amounts

Oversee posting of all firm payments and ensure proper application

Supervise and evaluate accounting and billing staff, ensuring accuracy, accountability, and adherence to established procedures

Monitor firm operating and trust account balances and recommend transfers as needed

Manage trust account activity, including deposits, disbursements, and reconciliations

Establish, maintain, and improve financial controls, processes, and reporting systems

Coordinate with the firm’s external CPA to support federal and state tax filings
-
Prepare annual 1099 filings, including Form 1096

QUALIFICATIONS:

BS in Accounting

Public Accounting Experience Preferred
